Hefazat-e-Islam, the Qwami Madrasha based platform, and some other Islamic parties are planning movement demanding trial of sacked minister Abdul Latif Siddique and passing the Blasphemy Law.
They want capital punishment to Latif Siddique for his derogatory comments about Hajj, Prophet Muhammad (sm) and the Tablig Jamaat. They said that they would launch tougher movement if the sacked minister is released from the jail.
Dhaka city unit of Hefazat-e-Islam will bring out a procession at Lalbagh in the city after Jumma prayers today (Friday). Senior leaders of the platform will join the procession, says a press release.
Khelafat-e-Islami Bangladesh has demanded cancellation of the bail to Latif Siddique in several cases. Otherwise, they would launch movement. Ameer of the party Maulana Abul Hasanat Amini asked the government not to release
Latif Siddique but to award capital punishment. “If he is released from the jail, a volatile situation will be created in the country,” he observed.
Islami Oikya Jote (IOJ), Bangladesh Khelafat Andolan, Sammilito Ulema-Mashayekh Parishad and some other Islamic parties and organisations also warned of tougher movement if Latif Siddique is released and his capital punishment is not ensured.
The reaction of the Islamic parties came after the High Court granted bail to the sacked minister in seven separate cases filed in Dhaka and Narayanganj for his anti-Islamic comments.
