Unidentified miscreants abducted an official of Islami Bank from Golpukur Par area in Mymensingh on Monday night.
The victim was identified as Ilias Uddin, an official of Rural Development Project of Islami Bank’s Mymensingh branch.
Admitting the matter, Mymensingh’s Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Fazlul Karim said: “Ilias and his co-worker Hyder Ali was returning home after prayer at a mosque when a group of seven to eight miscreants riding on a microbus dragged Ilias on the vehicle at around 10:15pm.”
“They tried to kidnap Hyder also but he was saved,” he said.
Hyder later filed a complaint with Kotwali Police Station regarding the matter.
The OC said, police are trying to rescue him.
