Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited observed the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day with due respect and in a befitting manner.
The day’s program included placing wreaths at Bangabandhu’s portrait in Dhanmondi 32 and discussion and praying session in the bank’s head office on Tuesday.
Chairman of the bank Arastoo Khan, chairman of audit committee Dr Md Zillur Rahman, chairman of risk management committee Shamim Mohammad Afzal, Prof Dr Md Sirajul Karim, Helal Ahmed Chowdhury Md Joynal Abedin, Md Mizanur Rahman, Prof Dr Kazi Shahidul Alam, Borhan Uddin Ahmed and Syed Abu Asad, directors of the bank addressed the program.
Dr Mohammad Abdus Samad, member secretary of the shariah supervisory committee conducted the doa mahfil seeking the long life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and mercy of the Almighty for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other martyred members of his family.
Md Abdul Hamid Miah, Managing Director and CEO of the bank, presided over the program while it was also addressed by Md Mahbub-ul-Alam, additional managing director and Abu Reza Md Yeahia, deputy managing director. Top executives and employees of the bank also attended the program.
The meeting discussed the different capacities and extensive life of Bangabandhu. Besides, 326 branches and 16 zonal offices of the bank organized a discussion meeting and a prayer session observing the National Mourning Day.
