Ishwardi’s Swapnadwip resort is always crowded with foreigners. The newly established resort has taken the ongoing development of Ishwardi one step further. As well as being a sight to behold, Swapnadwip Resort has also been able to enrich Ishwardi economically.
Even 5-6 years ago, Ishwardi was like ten other rural areas of the country. People’s life was calm, stable and normal. As evening fell, the area was plunged into pitch black darkness. The picture has now completely changed. The area is being illuminated by the state-of-the-art 20-storey buildings of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. The massive and multifaceted work of the ongoing nuclear power plant has completely changed the lives of the people living in the Ishwardi region.
More than 4,000 foreigners working at the Rooppur nuclear power plant and a large number of foreigners, including foreigners from the EPZ, are now stationed in Ishwardi. There was no way to retire after a busy day. There was no center for entertainment or leisure. There were no residential hotels for domestic and foreign aristocrats. We had to take risks for leisure and recreation at Ratnadwip Resort in Pabna, about 30 km away. In this situation Khairul Islam, a businessman from Joynagar area of Ishwardi came forward. He has recently built a three-star residential hotel and a beautiful ‘Swapnadwip Resort’ near Rooppur Green City. Along with this a five star hotel is under construction.
