Fazlul Haque, Headmaster of North Bengal Paper Mills High School and Moktar Hossain, Headmaster of Bahasa Shahid Vidya Niketan have been elected president and general secretary of Ishwardi Upazila branch of Bangladesh Teachers Association (BTA) respectively. The election was held on Thursday afternoon at the RRP Community Center. Iqbal Hossain, vice-president of the central committee of the teachers’ association, announced the results at 9:30 pm.
Earlier, Bazlur Rahman Mia, president of the central committee of the teachers’ association, inaugurated the conference at 10:30 am. The chief guest was Nuruzzaman Biswas, Member of Parliament for Pabna 4 constituency. The keynote speaker of the conference was Adhya Sheikh Kawsar Ahmed, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Association.
Chairman of Ishwardi Upazila branch of Teachers Association Jomsed Ali presided over the function presided over by special guests as Chairman of Upazila Parishad Bir Muktijoddha Naib Ali Biswas, General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, Vice President of Awami League Bir Muktijoddha Mohammad Rashidullah, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Khan, Nari Vice Chairman Atia Ferdous Kakli and Murad Krithak, Joint Convener of Upazila Krishka League. Mostafizur Rahman Robi, the recently departed general secretary of the association, presented the annual report on the occasion.
