M. A. Jabbar :UNESCO in 1965 declared September 8 as International Literacy Day. Since 1966 the day is observed worldwide among the member countries. On the day, UNESCO reminds the international community of the importance of literacy to everybody in the society. The theme of the day this year is : Literacy and sustainable societies.
