Alhaj Nuruzzaman Biswas MP of Pabna-4 constituency, has instructed Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex to get rid of garbage and remove all irregularities. On Sunday (May 15), when he suddenly visited the hospital on the spot, various irregularities were noticed. He immediately summoned the UNO,, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Police Station Officer-in-Charge to the hospital.
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Asma Khan held an immediate meeting in his office. MP Biswas directed the hospital to remove garbage and all irregularities, saying that there could be no private ambulance in the hospital compound without government ambulance, removal of fuska, chatpati and almond shops, health services were being disrupted due to more than two hundred representatives of pharmaceutical companies. So delegates will visit outdoors two days a week for one hour from 12 noon to 1 pm, will not be able to enter the emergency department or ward and patients will not be harassed.
He further said that measures should be taken to block access of drug addicts after evening, adding that arrangements should be made to keep the hospital’s ultrasonogram, digital X-ray and ECG machine on, and all deliveries including caesarean delivery to the hospital should be ensured. He said that despite all the delivery arrangements at Ishwardi Hospital, a class of doctors, nurses and brokers were urging patients and parents to be admitted to the clinic.
He directed the Health Officer and the Residential Medical Officer to implement these instructions as soon as possible and directed the Upazila Nirbahi Officer to take care of them to ensure their implementation.
