Chittagong metropolitan police rounded up one suspect belong to International Islamic Militant organization-IS from city area on Friday night.
The IS militant suspect named Sarful Awal (28) was held from Hakim ali lane of Kapashgola in city on Friday night.
Police sources said the detained Sarful was an organiser of outlawed Hizbut Taheri . CMP sources said former lecturer of Cox’sBazar International Unversity Sarful was living in a rented house of Chandgaon residential area and after arrest, a number of jihadi books were recovered from his residence.
After reviewing his face book account, it was found that he used to contact with his colleagues with IS militants of Iraq and Iran and police ascertained that he is an active member of IS organization. Officer in-charge of Chandgaon thana told that interrogation to IS suspect is being continued from Friday night .
A case under anti-state activities is under process , sources said.
