Filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan, an adaptation of late Kalki ‘Krishnamurthy’s historical novel with the same name is in the pre-production phase, and several star actors are in talks to play the significant roles in the movie. Apart from Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi and Keerthy Suresh, Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai have been approached to play a crucial role in the movie.
If sources are anything to go by, the Aishwarya Rai would be seen in a dual role in the highly-anticipated upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan. She will be seen essaying the well-known Nandhini and her mute mother, the queen Mandakini Devi. However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited.
Ponniyin Selvan will reportedly go on floors sometime in November. Tollywood actor Mohan Babu is expected to play Periya Pazhuvettarayar in the magnum opus. The lead artists are already bracing up their roles in the movie. They are busy developing beautiful manes to prep up for their roles in this flick. Lyca Productions will produce Ponniyin Selvan.
