For the first time Azad Abul Kalam worked with Urmila Srabonti Kar and Ireen Afroz in a drama serial. They worked together in Sokal Ahmed’s serial Countdown. After completing shooting of the serial in Malaysia now it is going on in different places in Dhaka.
While talking about the serial its director Sokal Ahmed told this correspondent, “A group from a corporate office went to Malaysia. But there one after another person was missing from the group. Story of the serial revolves with such an occurrence. Azad Abul Kalam is plating in role of detective police official Rahman, while Urmila and Ireen are acting in roles of Urmi and Ira in the serial.”
Azad Abul Kalam said, “Shooting of my portion was done in a nice place where its set was placed under a beautiful arrangement. Therefore, Sokal cordially did his job. He has made it sincerely and I believe viewers will enjoy the serial.”
Urmila shared her feelings by this way, “It is established that Sokal Bhai is a noted director. Earlier under his direction I acted in a faction play. From that time I had built up a good relationship with him. He works very sincerely. He is aware about what the actors want and he also take care of them. Therefore, he works cordially. I also liked story of Countdown.”
“Pavel Bhai is a great actor. I always enjoyed working with him. In a word, he is an institution. I am lucky that I got the scope to work with him in this serial,” actress Ireen Afroz said while sharing her feelings in this regard.
Now Azad Abul Kalam is making a new theatre play titled Pain. Recently under his direction 25th show of Polashbari was held at Mohila Samity Moncho at Bailey Road in the city. His directed two TV plays attracted the viewers’ attention. These were: Alpin-er Atmoprotikriti and Morog Polao.
On the other hand, Urmila will be engaged with shooting of Syed Shakil’s ongoing serial Sonar Shekol today, she mentioned.
