A delegation of Al-Mustafa International University of Iran, led by Shahabuddin Mashaekhi, met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman at the latter’s office on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic, research and cultural programs on Persian language and literature between the University of Dhaka and Al-Mustafa International University, Iran.
The visiting team expressed willingness to provide more visiting professors to DU for promoting the Department of Persian Language and Literature at the university.
Shahabuddin Mashaekhi also assured the VC of providing a short term training program on Persian language in Iran for DU young teachers and students.
They agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard.
Associate Professor of Al-Mustafa International University Dr. Shahnaj Arefin, Professor of the Department of Persian Language and Literature of DU Dr. Kulsoom Abul Bashar Majumder and Public Relations Officer of the Embassy of Iran in Dhaka Khondker Md. Mahfuzul Hoque were present on the occasion.
