Defending champions Islamic Republic of Iran, riding on a hat-trick by forward Fatemeh Ghasemi, strongly came back in the title race in their 2nd Group C match of the six-nation AFC U-16 Women’s Championship-2017 Qualifiers crushing Kyrgyzstan by 9-0 goals at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday morning.
With the day’s emphatic victory, Iran has secured three points from two matches while Kyrgyzstan were in the bottom of six-team list without any points.
Iran, which suffered a frustrating 0-3 goals defeat against hosts Bangladesh in their opening match last Saturday, today (Monday) dominated the first half by 4-0 goals displaying brilliance in the AFC Junior Women’s meet.
Striker Fatemeh Ghasemi scored the first hat-trick in the ongoing tournament scoring five goals in the 18th, 54th, 71st, 80th and 87th minutes.
Midfielder Fatemeh Makhdoumi struck two in the 42nd and 85th minutes while Moral Torkaman and Rogheyeh Jalal Nasab netted one each for Nepal in the 26th and in the stoppage time of the first half (45+2).
Iran will play their next match on Wednesday at 3 pm at the same venue.
