Staff Reporter :The government has appointed former Senior Secretary of Economic Relations Division Iqbal Mahmud as the chairman of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).Besides, former District and Sessions Judge AFM Aminul Islam was appointed commissioner of the anti-graft watchdog body.Additional Secretary of Cabinet Division Maksudur Rahman Patwari confirmed this to the journalists. A gazette notification was also issued regarding the appointment on Thursday.Iqbal Mahmud will get salary, allowances, other facilities and status like a judge of the Supreme Court’s Appellate Division, according to the gazette.The tenure of incumbent Chairman M Bodiuzzaman will expire on March 13.Earlier the government appointed Iqbal Mahmud as the chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in August last year. But he didn’t join there.
