The government on Thursday appointed former senior secretary of the Economic Relations Division (ERD) Iqbal Mahmood as the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Besides, former District and Sessions Judge AFM Aminul Islam was appointed commissioner of the anti-graft watchdog body. The Cabinet Division has issued gazette notification in this regard, its additional secretary Masusdur Rahman Patwary told UNB. The tenure of incumbent chairman M Bodiuzzaman will expire on March 13. Earlier the government appointed Iqbal Mahmood as the chairman of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) in August last year. But he didn’t join there. — Dhaka, Mar 10 (UNB)
