The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) on Tuesday strongly condemned the recent terror attacks at a metro rail in St Petersburg, Russian and in front of the House of Commons in the United Kingdom (UK).
The global forum of parliaments also expressed solidarity with the governments of Russia and the UK to thwart any sort of terrorist for a peaceful world.
“The IPU is always against the global terrorism as it pursues zero tolerant stand in this regard,” said IPU President Saber Hossain Chowdhury at the Governing Council meeting of 136th IPU Assembly that began at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) here on Saturday.
Bangladesh parliament Speaker and the assembly President Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury presided over the meeting.
Expressing shock over the incidents, Saber Chowdhury wished early recovery of the victims of the terror attacks in Russia and the UK.
