Popular folk music platform ‘IPDC Amader Gaan’ paid homage to Polli Kobi Jasimuddin with their ethnic interpretation of his famous song O Babu Selam Bare Bar. Directed by Partha Barua and Rashid Khan, the cinematography was handled by Michil Saha. Ankon and Kamruzzaman Rabbi voiced the song, said a press release.
The music video gives off a folk vibe as both the performers and the chorus dons rural attire. The video starts with the introduction of a king who proudly walks toward his throne and enjoys the performance of the singers.
The song beautifully captures the essence of folk music by combining the beats of several Bengali instruments starting with Bangla Dhol, Dholok, Dotara, Khonjoni, among others.
IPDC released the track on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and the music video has already generated wide appreciation from the viewers. O Babu Selam Bare Bar is available for streaming at IPDC Amader Gaan’s YouTube channel.
