International Organization for Relief, Welfare and Development (IORWD) distributed Iftar items among 1175 underprivileged people at Begum Rokeya High School ground, Jummapara in the city and Taraganj Upazila yesterday .
Some 550 food baskets were distributed in Rangpur city and 625 in Taraganj Upazila in the district.
Iftar items basket weighing 25 kgs contains rice, lentils , sugar , salt and edible oil.
Local Councior Sikander Ali , Women Councilor Hasna Banu and Rangpur Press Club General Secretary Rashid Babu were present on the occasion.
IORWD has been working in Bangladesh for long time and 30,000 food baskets are being distributed in different places of the country including Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar .
People who received iftar items expressed gratitude to the IORWD and they called upon the King of Saudi Arabia in all their prayers for wellness and health .
