The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday summoned the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case lodged in connection with the murder of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi to the court on March 21. The IO failed to submit a progress report
about his investigation to the court, despite his failure on 46 scheduled dates. Magistrate Mazharul Islam passed the order on Wednesday telling IO, ASP Mohiuddin Ahmed of RAB to give his explanation in this regard to the court. The court also directed the IO to submit a progress report of the case on March 21.
Maasranga Television News Editor Sagar Sarowar and his wife ATN Bangla Senior Reporter Meherun Runi were found dead at their flat in the city’s Razabazar area on February 11, 2012.
