BSMRMU seminar: Inu for Blue Economy in developing nation

The sole maritime specialized public university of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh organized a workshop on “Development of Curriculum of B.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering Programme”. The workshop was organized by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the university, says a press release.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The Vice Chancellor of the university Rear Admiral ASM Abdul Baten attended as the special guest. Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Commodore M Ziauddin Alamgir chaired the workshop.
Different maritime experts and academicians along with concerned maritime stakeholders attended the workshop. University officers, faculty members and students attended the workshop as well. The workshop was organized to develop the curriculum for the newly scheduled undergraduate program, “B.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering”.
The Chief Guest focused on exploring and extracting valuable sea resources, carrying out research and survey of sea resources with the help of modern technology. He also emphasized on the role of the university in developing expert manpower to contribute in the economic development of Bangladesh and uplift the nation’s economy to “Blue Economy”.
The special guest expressed his thoughts that, the students will contribute to the socio-economic development of the nation by building their career as skilled maritime professionals at home and abroad after being achieving their degrees.
