The second International Day of Yoga will be celebrated here and all over the world on Tuesday. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka will host an event at Mirpur International Indoor Stadium on the occasion.
The programme will include yoga demonstrations and participation in performing a 20-minute version of the common Yoga Protocol. The event is open for all and reporting time at the venue is 7:15 am. Free t-shirts and yoga mats will be given to the participants, according to Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
In 2014, United Nations had adopted the resolution that proclaimed June 21 as the International Day of Yoga.
Bangladesh had sponsored and supported the United Nations’ resolution. Accordingly, the first International Day of Yoga was celebrated in 2015.
Yoga is an ancient practice that embodies hormony of mind, body, thought and action and aimed at developing a holistic approach towards general health and well being.
Today Yoga is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity.
International Yoga Day aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga.
