Bangladesh will celebrate the International Women’s Day on Friday with the rest of the world, highlighting women’s rights and empowerment.
This year’s theme is ‘Think equal, build smart, innovate for change’.
Different organisations will organise various programmes on the occasion.
Marking the day, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs has arranged a discussion meeting at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre at 9am on March 9. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to attend it as the chief guest.
Five women will be honoured with ‘Joyeeta Award’.
Products produced and manufactured by women entrepreneurs will be displayed in the district towns from March 8-9.
