The International Women’s Day was observed on Saturday at Dhaka University through different programmes.
Marking the day, Women and Gender Studies Department of the university brought out a colorful procession led by DU Treasurer Prof Kamal Uddin on the campus.
The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is “Equality for women is progress for all”.
A panel discussion on “Female Labour: Rights and Empowerment” was held at the Senate Bhaban of the university. East-West University founding vice-chancellor Professor Mohammad Farasuddin addressed the discussion as the chief guest while DU Treasurer Prof Kamal Uddin as the special guest.
