International Women’s Day was observed in Sirajgonj on Sunday .
The Women and Children Affairs Department organised a programme which included colourful rally from the collectorate building to the Monsoor Ali Auditorium where a discussion meeting was held with DC Billal Hossain in the Chair. Among others Selina Begum Swapna MP and Laila Nargis Parvin, District officer, Woman Affairs Department . NGOs like CARE, ADB, Family Health Department organisation FHDO participated in the programme.
Bogra Correspondent adds: World Vision Bangladesh, Bogra ADP arranged a rally and conference on Women’s Empowerment, Human Development” to mark the International Women’s Day at Madla Union Parishad, Shahjahanpur premises on Sunday. Chief guest Mr Rubayet Khan UNO of Shahjahanpur Upazilla inaugurated the rally. He said that the equal right of man-woman should be established in the society and women have to be more conscious for their self confidence. All the speakers gave importance on woman’s education, hazards, discrimination and equal rights. Lotas Chisim,sr.ADP Manager Bogra Cluster, President Abdul Latif Mondal, Chairman Madla Union Parishad, Project Manager, Jamons Polas Cruze were present in that meeting. With the presence of 600 men-women participated in a rally and meeting.
