Bangladesh has the potential to export plastic products worth about Taka 4,000 crore each year while the plastic goods worth about Taka 20,000 crore are being produced and supplied internally.
“The usage of plastic goods increases about 20 percent . . . The government gets Taka 2000 crore as of its revenue income from this sector,” Jashim Uddin, president of Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) told on Wednesdaytoday.
Highlighting the significance of the plastic sector he categorically said, “The plastic industry has a great prospect and the four-day International Plastic Summit in private partnership will be held here from January 20, 2016 aimed at creating the opportunity for an excellent gathering of the international suppliers and buyers and bringing foreign investment and economic growth to Bangladesh.”
