A four-day international photography festival titled “Dhaka Int’l Foto Fest-2019” will begin in the city tomorrow.
With a view to increasing the practice of the art of photography, Dhaka University Photographic Society (DUPS) is arranging the festival in beyond the international border at Teacher-Student Center (TSC) of DU, Faculty of Fine Arts and gallery 5 & 6 of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy premises.
Bangladesh Tourism Board sponsored the exhibition.
In this fest, 145 single photographs taken by photographers of Bangladesh along with photographers of seven other countries will be exhibited, the organisers said at a press conference held at the office of Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA).
According to the DUPS, 16 photo stories also will be exhibited. The festival will begin by a colorful rally at 9 am from TSC on January 27. The inauguration and prize giving ceremony will be held at 11 am in Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, MP, will be present at the programme as the chief guest, said a DUPS press release.
This exhibition will continue from 11 am to 8 pm every day for all. From the second day, programs like Meet the Judge session, Artist talk, Box camera photography, portfolio review and documentary film show on photography will be arranged for the young photographers.
