The International Nurses Day will be observed in the country as elsewhere in the world today.
The theme for this year’s Nurses’ Day is “Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health”.
The International Nurses Day is celebrated to appreciate the hard work and dedication of the nursing community. It is celebrated annually on May 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the trailblazer of modern nursing Florence Nightingale, reports BSS.
Different government and non-government organizations have taken an elaborate programme to celebrate the day.
As part of the programme, a discussion will be held in the auditorium of Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery at 11am tomorrow. Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque will attend the programme as the chief guest.
Other programmes include rally, seminar and cultural function highlighting the importance of nursing profession in the health sector.
