Int’l Literacy Day observed

Kishoreganj District Administration and Primary and Mass Education Department arranged a discussion, rally, postering and cultural function marking the International Literacy Day on Friday. A discussion on “Literacy in a digital world” was held at local collectorate conference room on Friday.
Deputy Commissioner Md Azimuddin Biswas presided over th meeting.
It was addressed among others by Zilla Parished Chairman Adv Md Zillur Rahman as a special guest, Gurudayal Governmnert . College Principal prof Ram Chandra Roy, Additional Police Super Masud Anower, Prinicpal (Retd.) Prof Narayon Chandra Roy, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Senior Journalist Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu, Mahabubul Alam, Education Officer Athaur Rahman, Principal Engineer Ruhul Amin and ADC (Education & ICT) Golam Md. Bhuiyan.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin said that the government is commited to ensure education for all to develop skilled manpower.
Zilla Parishad Chairman Adv Zillur Rahman said, the government is implementing various schemes in the education sector with the major objectives of ensuring education for all and setting a standard in education.
Principal professor Ram Chandra Roy called upon all to work together to attain cent percent literacy rate to turn every citizen of the country into a human resource. A colourfull rally brought out in the town led by DC Md. Azimuddin Biswas.
BSS from Panchagarh adds: International Literacy Day was observed in Debiganj upazila town of the district with the theme ‘Achieve Literacy, Build Digital World’ on Friday .
In observance of the day, the upazila administration brought out a rally from upazila parishad premises which paraded different roads of the town. A discussion was also held after the rally with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Debiganj Md Firuzul Islam in the chair.
The meeting addressed by Upazila Parishad vice-chairman Parimal Dey Sarker, primary education officer Runa Layla and freedom fighter commander Sodesh Chandra Roy.
