A six-member delegation of International Inner Wheel, one of the world’s largest women’s service voluntary organisations, met President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban on Saturday. During the meeting, the delegation, led by its president Abha Gupta, apprised the President about its activities saying they mainly do two things-building friendship among the womenfolk and welfare activities for the underprivileged.
They informed the President that their organisation has been working in more than 103 countries across the globe with over 1 lakh members, including 1,000 in Bangladesh.
They also apprised that the organisation participates in social welfare activities of Rotary International.
The President appreciated the activities of the International Inner Wheel and asked them to expand its activities. The other members of the delegation are Ruzina Afzal, Dilruba Ahmed, Khaleda Awal, Sharmin Hossain and Mahbuba Helen. Secretaries concerned to the President Office were present.
