Int’l Flight Safety seminar begins

A two-day long International Flight Safety Seminar jointly organized by Bangladesh Air Force and Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh started at Falcon Hall, Tejgaon on Monday.
Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Abu Esrar, BBP, ndc, acsc inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest. The aim of the seminar is to increase flight safety awareness through mutual interaction and sharing of knowledge and experience. The theme of the seminar is “Flight Safety – A Goal to be attained through Practising Safety Culture”.
Speaking on the occasion Chief of Air Staff expressed his heartiest appreciations to all involved organizations for their continued efforts in promoting professional excellence through organizing such an international seminar at Dhaka. He applauded the noble objective of the seminar for creating opportunity to share experiences among military and civil organizations and work as a team in promoting flight safety. Chief of Air Staff also said that Flight Safety is not a business of Air Forces only but every aviation related organization can be greatly benefitted from the concepts and practices of safety culture.

He noted that the participants, with their rich experience and knowledge, will identify the challenges for improving the flight safety standards which will benefit all.

Military and civil representatives from China, Sri Lanka, South Africa, France, Indonesia, Myanmar, USA, UK, Turkey, Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, Philippines, Oman and Bangladesh are taking part in the seminar. Representatives from Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), DGFI, Armed Forces Division (AFD), Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Coast Guard, Defence Services Command and Staff College, Atomic Energy Commission, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd, different Flying Clubs, Padma Oil Company, Fire Service and Civil Defense, MIST and other civil airlines of Bangladesh are participating in the seminar.
