The International Day for Disaster Reduction observed at pirganj upazila under Thakurgaon on Monday last.
Pirgonj Upazila Administration organised a colourful rally and discussion meeting to mark the International Day for Disaster Reduction at pirganj in Thakurgaon.
Pirganj Project Implement Officer Md Ziaur Rahman Zia presided over the discussion meeting. Among others Md. Ziaul Islam Zia Chairman upazila parishad, Md. Abul Kasem Vice Chairman, Md. Meher Elahi President of Pirganj Press Club and The New Nation Thakurgaon Distrect Correspondent Md. Mokaddes Hayat Milon spoke in the discussion meeting.
A colourful rally was paraded different roads of pirganj municipal town of the Upazila. Cross people participate in the rally.
Sylhet Correspondent adds: The International Disaster Reduction Day was observed in Sylhet on Monday.
Sylhet District Administration arranged a rally and a gathering on the occasion. The rally was brought out from the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises and after parading the main roads of the City it ended at the same venue.
At the end of the rally DC, Sylhet Mohammad Shohidul Islam addressed the gathering. Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) and Deputy Director of Local Government Doctor Suvas Chandro Biswash, ADC Hasan Mahmud, district relief and rehabilitation officer Mourin Karim, UNO, Sylhet Sadar Upazial Mir Mahbubur Rahman, Assistant commissioner Arifur Rahman, Razaul Karim, Mostafizur Rahman, Shahidul Alam, Yesmin Aktar and journalist Aftab Chy were present in the programme.
