The 12th International Conference on Urban Health (ICUH- 2015) begins today to exchange ideas and opinions among the urban health professionals at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
Speaker of the parliament and Chairperson of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will inaugurate the conference.
ICUH- 2015 will be the first International Conference on Urban Health in the country which will emphasize the inclusion of urban health priorities in the post-2015 development agenda.
It will gather scientists, practitioners, policy makers and community organisations from more than 60 countries to exchange ideas and advance research and practice that promote the health of individuals who are in the urban regions and breaking down socio-economic barriers to urban health access.
A total of six plenary sessions, 32 breakout sessions, more than 20 special sessions will be held at the conference where 180 key note papers on different issues will be presented.
