The International Conference on Sustainable Fisheries will be held on September 9-11 in Sylhet. This conference will be held for the second time at the initiative of the Faculty of Fisheries, Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU). SAU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Matiar Rahman Howlader inaugurated the process of submitting research abstract and the conference website on Tuesday.
Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and convener of the conference, Prof Dr Mrityunjoy Kunda presided over the ceremony held at the conference room of the Faculty of Fisheries of the University at 1pm.
Conference convening committee member secretary Prof. Dr. M. M. Mahbub Alam was hosted the ceremony. The director of the Directorate of Student Counseling and Guidance of the Sylhet Agricultural University, Prof Md Mostafa Samshuzzaman, Proctor Prof Dr Tariqul Islam, Dean Council Convener Prof. Muhammad Rashed Al Mamun, Deans of other faculties, all teachers of Proctorial Body and Faculty of Fisheries.SAU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Matiar Rahman Howlader said, “The International Conference on Sustainable Fisheries is being organized for the second time by the Faculty of Fisheries, which is a very commendable initiative.
In the meantime, by organizing a conference, collaborative relations have been established between Sylhet Agricultural University and various international organizations and other universities. The international conference will play a key role in advancing research and at the same time create opportunities for exchange of research knowledge to make the fisheries sector sustainable.”
In 2019, for the first time, the Faculty of Fisheries of Sylhet Agricultural University organized an international conference on sustainable fisheries. That time a total of 14 countries’ delegates took part in the three-day conference. Following this, the Second International Conference on Sustainable Fisheries will be held from 9 to 11 September 2022. All information and research abstract submission related information of the conference will be available on the website (icsf.sau.ac.bd), the organizers said.
