A three-day long 8th International Conference on Software, Knowledge, Information Management and Applications (SKIMA-2014) held at United International University (UIU) at its premises from 18th to 20th December, 2014.
University Grants Commission chairman Prof Dr A K Azad Chowdhury, (State Minister) was present in the occasion as Chief Guest. S M Ashraful Islam, Executive Director, Bangladesh Computer Council was present as the guest of Honor. While Prof Alomgir Hossain, Conference Co-Chair and Prof Dr Pran Kanai Saha, Chair, IEEE Bangladesh Section spoke on the Program.
This program was followed by the day long sessions of keynote speeches from the renowned researchers in different domains of Knowledge Management, Software Engineering and Information Systems sharing their ideas, experiences and insights.
In the last two days the conference continued with 15 sessions on scientific research on various topics and a tutorial from one of the sponsors News red. These sessions cover a vast array of disciplines related to the conference.
Researchers discussed about the recent work and present and demonstrate their scientific results to the audience present at the conference. This year 184 papers from 27 different countries all around the world were submitted and only 75 high quality research papers were accepted for the final publication after a rigorous peer review process. It is supposed to be a display of top class research work and will be greatly beneficial for the students and academic researchers in the field of Information Technology in the country and as well as to the industry people.
