The 10th international conference on marine technology (MARTEC 2016) will be organized by the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NAME) of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) during 9-10 this month.
Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh has consented to grace the inaugural ceremony and Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman was the chief guest.
The inaugural ceremony and the closing ceremony will be held at the Council Building, BUET on 9th and 10th December 2016 respectively at 4pm Prof Dr Saiful Islam, Vice-Chancellor of BUET has consented to be present as special guest. Trevor Blakeley, Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), UK will be present as a Guest of Honor.
In MARTEC 2016 about 150 researchers from all over the world including speakers from UK, Japan, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Taiwan and Bangladesh will deliver lectures on recent developments in the field of Marine Technology in one Keynote Session and twelve parallel technical sessions. More than 80 technical papers will be presented at this conference for creating an international forum for sharing their research findings with each other.
