A two-day international conference on ‘Geological Engineering and Geo-hazard and Development’ concluded on Wednesday on the Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus.
JU Geological Sciences department in association with International Association of Engineering Geology & Environment (IAEG) organised the conference at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium on the campus.
JU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam addressed the second day of the conference as the chief guest.
Addressing the function, she said, “Such type of conferences will create opportunity to exchange the knowledge on geology between the researchers and experts.”
Presided over by Chairman of JU Geological Sciences department Professor Dr Mahfuzul Haque, Professor of DU Geological Sciences Dr Kazi Matin Uddin Ahmed and Director of Bangladesh Geological Survey Department Dr Rishad Md Ekram Ali addressed the function as special guest.
On the concluding day, teachers and researchers presented their research papers at the various sessions of the conference.
