Int’l confce on Engineering & Technology begins at MIST

The fourth International Conference on ‘Electrical Engineering and Information and Communication Technology’ began at Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in the city on Thursday. Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman inaugurated the conference as the chief guest, an ISPR press release said. Power Division secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus and Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Prof Dr Saiful Islam spoke on the occasion as special guests.
Maj. Gen. Md Abul Khair, Commandant of MIST, was present as the chief patron of the conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Yeafesh Osman said young generation has been marching fast towards development, the long cherished expectation of the nation.
“Our development has been possible for our national independence and this independence came into reality only for Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said.
The minister said this conference would bring together scientists, engineers, researchers, academia and entrepreneurs of many counties to exchange their ideas and enhance research collaboration. Researchers and professionals from different countries, including Bangladesh, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia, are participating in the conference for sharing their up-to-date knowledge and experience in the fields of Electrical, Electronic Engineering and Information and Communication Technology.
The conference is focusing on recent researches, article presentations and discussions on demanding tracks, including artificial intelligence, biomedical engineering, computer network and security, communications, digital signal and image processing, optoelectronics and photonics, power electronics and drives, power system and renewable energy, semiconductor device and nano-technology, software engineering, VLSI and circuits, microwave engineering, radar engineering and satellite navigation. The first conference of Electrical Engineering and ICT was held at MIST in 2014 with a view to building a forum of researchers, entrepreneurs, engineers and students from all over the world.
