Intervention of MPs in UZ polls alleged

The election officials of Chittagong accused the local lawmakers for interfering the upazila election in different upazilas of Chittagong.
 This allegations of the election officials was disclosed at a view exchanging meeting held at the Divisional commissioner’s auditorium on the occasion of coming fourth phase upazila elections.
 In the meeting Election Commissioner Brig.Gen.Md.Javed Ali was present in it as Chief Guest. Divisisonal Commissioner Md.Abdullah presided over the meeting.
Among others, DIG of Police of Chiittagong Range Md. Nowsher Ali, Police Commissioner Shafiqul Islam, District Police Super AKM Hafiz Akhter, Returning Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Chittasgong Sanaul Hoque and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
The local election officials alleged that they could not properly work in the election following the intervention of the local MPs.
In reply to allegations of the election officials, Election Commissioner told that none will be spared who will violate the code of conducts of the election anywhere.
Election commissioner said no minister or MP are allowed to intervene the local UZ elections and any such intervention will be treated as violation of code of conduct of the election, sources said.
The election commission hailed the role of media persons during the election of national and UZ polls and also urged them to telecast the real pictures of the election in next phase upazila elections.
