Internet connectivity for new knowledge stressed

UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan said that internet connectivity is a must for teachers, students and researchers for access to world knowledge pool in the ever-changing world.
He said at a workshop on ‘BdREN (Bangladesh Research and Education Network) Connectivity to Private Universities’ was held at UGC auditorium on Thursday.
Prof Abdul Mannan was present at the occasion as Chief Guest while UGC Member Prof Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Ali Mollah was present the occasion as Special Guest. UGC Member Prof Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain presided over the ceremony.
Dr. Gauranga Chandra Mohanta, ndc, Project Director, Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) delivered the welcome address.
Abdul Mannan also said in a knowledge-based society, high-speed internet connectivity is the prime need of the hour for creation of new knowledge and dissemination of it to the global community.
UGC Members Prof Dr. Dil Afroza Begum, Prof Dr. M. Shah Nowaz Ali and UGC Secretary Dr. Md. Khaled, representatives from private universities, HEQEP, BdREN and high officials of UGC, among others, were present the occasion.
