The long – cherished swimming pool at port city is going to be inaugurated beside the Chattogram MA Aziz Stadium very shortly.
The sports fans are count downing the day of opening of international standard swimming pool here .
All types of construction works of the pool and necessary fixtures and furniture with eye catching decorations have been completed in the meantime.. The SP implementing authority faced a lots of obstacles to implement SP project by a vested quarters through meeting, rally and human chain even peruse the court also. But at the last , implementing authority wins the race following the direct intervention of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. This is the first ever international standard swimming pool constructed after emergence of Bangladesh. Tk 11.61 cr spent for constructing the SP over one acres of land at Outer Stadium in heart of the port city. Chattogram Zilla Krira Sangstha (CJKS) sources said the construction work of SP began in March 2017 over one acres of land. The 8 lane swimming space SP have 50 meters length and 22 meters breadth. CJKS sources said Chattogram SP is one of the most modern SP of the country than the other SPs because of modern dressing room for swimmers , players’ lounge, seating arrangement for 1500 viewers, water purification plant, uninterrupted power supply ,own 250 -KVA capacity sub -station and spacious parking space.
