The long cherished demands of the sports fans of the port city, Chittagong Zila Krira sangstha is going to construct an international standard swimming pool at MA Aziz stadium adjoining outer stadium at an estimated cost of Tk.11.50crores. City Mayor AJMNasiruddin disclosed it at the discussion meet of CJKS held on Wednesday .
The meeting was apprised that the swimming pool will be 50 meters long and 22 meters breadth. The construction work of the pool will be completed within six months after starting the construction work, sources added.
City Mayor says the demand of swimming pool in Chittagong is long one and hence the project work will be implemented in a planned way .
Programme to make Ctg city clean launched: Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) A J M Nasir Uddin has started the program to make the Chittagong city clean and green one.
As part of the program, the mayor started to shift the dust beans from the road side on Tuesday.
He shifted the dust beans from the road side of Upahar Cinema hall area at Agrabad in the port city as part of the program in the morning.
Earlier, Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) started the collection of house hold garbage from the houses in port city under the door to door project from January 1.
Sources in CCC said, the door to door project for collection of household garbage from the houses in the port city was started at West Sholoshahar Ward, Shulokbahar Ward, Enayet Bazar Ward, North Pathantoli Ward, Alkoron Ward, Goshail Denga Ward for the first time. The project was started on the first day of the current year.
Nasir Uddin said, “We will take necessary action to make the roads and foot paths free for the vehicles. So, we will evict the illegal occupiers of footpaths as well as make the city traffic congestion free one.”
