The first ever 4-day long International Scientific Conference began in the port city on Monday at Chittagong Medical College Shah Alam Bir Uttam auditorium .
Vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Prof. Dr. Pran Gopal inaugurated the conference by cutting cake as Chief Guest.
Entire college campus was decorated and illuminated with baloons and festons to attract the conference . On first of the confernece, 117 research papers were presented before the conference by the medical scientists of 6 countries. Dainik Samakal was the media partner of the much talked scientific conference.
The chief guest in his brief address said Chittagong Medical College advanced ahead by arranging first ever scientific conference in Chittagong and with this advantage , this one of the largest hospital of the country will go ahead which will be upgraded into Medical university very shortly. General Secretary of city Awami league AJM Nasiruddin graced the occasion as special guest. Principal of Chittagong Medical college and President of CMC Teachers Samity Prof. Dr. Selim Jahangir presided over the inaugural ceremony. General secretary of CMCTS Dr. Md. Nur Hossain Bhuyia conducted the whole inaugural ceremony.
President of the Scientific Committee gave address of welcome on opening day of the conference.
 Among others, Director of CMC Hospital Brig. Gen. Shahidul Goni, President of BMA, Chittagong Chapter Dr. Mujibul Hoque Khan, General Secretary Dr. Md. Sharif, Member of BMA central committee Nasiruddin Mahmud and member secretary of scientific committee Dr. Aniruddha Ghosh. In his presidential address, Principal Dr. Selim Jahangir said discipline in medicare services in this hospital has revived following the new appointments of doctors in vacant posts and ensuring the promotion of doctors according to seniority .
 BMA Chittagong chapter President Mujibul Hoque Khan depicted the services of the hospital before the confernece and hoped for better medicare services in future . He further said following the upgrading the CMC into medical university, the medicare facilities will be enhanced to the poor and mid-income people of greater Chittagong. On second day of the conference, four medical research papers were presented in it by the foreign delegates.
