GM Abdullah Al-Rakib of Bangladesh Navy is keeping solo lead in the points table with maximum 7 points after end of the 7th round games of the Walton International Rating Chess Tournament sponsored by electronics and home appliance manufacturer company renowned brand Walton and organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation is now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.
Four players are sharing 2nd position with 6 points each. They are: FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Leonine Chess Club, FM Mohammad Javed of Bangladesh Navy, Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan of Titas and Mohammed Enayet Hossain of Fire-Service.
Faisal Hossain of Farashganj SC is in the 3rd position with 5½ points.
The 7th round games were held yesterday (Thursday).
In the 7th round games: Rakib beat CM Mahtabuddin Ahmed Robin, Enayet beat FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon, Parag beat Md Mujibur Rahman of Chittagong, Mostafa beat Md Golam Rasul Bhuiyan, Javed beat Rabiul Bhuiya, Faisal Hossain beat Matiur Rahman Mamun and Saimon Siddiqur Rahman drew with Uten.
The 8th round games will start today (Friday) from 10.00 am at the same venue.
