The games of the Gazi Habibur Rahman International Rating Chess Tournament, ogranised by Bangladesh Chess Federation began at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Monday.
Renowned sports organizer Mozaffar Hossain Paltu inaugurated the event as the chief guest. Vice President of Bangladesh Chess Federation KM Shahidullah presided over the inaugural ceremony.
Md Mokaddes Hossain, Vice President of Bangladesh Chess Federation, Gazi Shayiful Tarique, General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation, Morsalin Ahmed and Shamim Khan, Joint-Secretaries of Bangladesh Chess Federation were present at the time.
A total 61 players including GM Ziaur Rahman, IM Minhaz Uddin, FM Mehdi Hasan Parag, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon, FM Mohammad Javed, Shawkat Hossain Pollab, Uten, Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan, Abdullah Al-Saif, Mahtabuddin Ahmed,Sahfiq Ahmed, Masum Hossain, CM Sohel Chowdhury, FM Rezaul Haque, Md Alamgir Hossain and FM Md Saif Uddin are taking part in the Tournament and won their respective 1st round games.
The 2nd round games will start today (Tuesday) from 2.30 pm at the same venue.
