Bangladesh observed the International Literacy Day-2020 on Tuesday, maintaining the health guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s them of the day was “literacy teaching and learning in the COVID-19 crisis and beyond with a focus on the role of education and changing pedagogies.
Kishoreganj district administration including Non-Formal Education Development Programme(NFEDP) arranged a meeting on virtual platform at local collectorate conference room on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner ( DC) Sarowar Morshed Chowdhury Presided over the meeting.
It was addressed among others by SP Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) as special guest, District Non-Formal Education 0fficer Md.Abdul Malaque , Principal (Retd.) Professor Rabindra Chowdhury, Headmaster Shahanawaze kabir , District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal and DPEO Subratra sarker .

highilghted the government initiatives in building a illiteracy free country, saving the government is implementing the Basic literacy project at 250 selected upazilas in 64 districts across the country to impart literacy knowledge to 45 lakh illiterate people age between 15 and 45 years.
The issues of literacy is a key component of the UNs sustainable development Goals and UNs 2030 Agenda for sustainable Development.
