It has been decided to launch international commercial flights from today (May 1) on special conditions, except for the countries currently considered high risk.
This information was obtained in a press release from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on Saturday.
The press release said the CAAB has issued a circular for the launch of international flights to 37 countries, imposing “special conditions” on travel, considering the rate of Covid-19 infections. Besides, air bubble flights have been suspended, the circular said.
Institutional quarantine of 14 days has been made mandatory for passengers from high-risk countries and temporarily disconnected from high-risk countries, the press release added.
It also said that passengers from non-listed countries have been asked to strictly observe the 14-day home quarantine subject to bringing a PCR negative certificate. As an exception, three Middle East countries (Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait) will follow the current three-day institutional quarantine management, despite being on the list of at-risk countries.
The next 11 days will be considered for home quarantine or isolation based on the results of the health checkups.
