Intern doctors in public medical colleges will get Taka 15,000 from this month as monthly internship allowance, an increase of Taka 5,000.
The raise comes after more than six years considering the services rendered by advanced level medical students in government medical college hospitals, an official familiar to the process said.
The current allowance of inter doctors is Taka 10,000.
According to a health ministry release that necessary financial allocation in this respect will be ensured for 2016-2017 financial year.
After coming to power by 2009, the present government had increased internship allowance to Taka 10,000 instead of Taka 6,500.
