The Walton Refrigerator National 13th Intermediate and 1st Junior Women’s Boxing competition began on Thursday at Mohammad Ali Boxing Stadium adjoining Paltan ground.
Deputy Minister Arif Khan Joy formally inaugurated the four-day meet as the chef guest. Walton additional director head of games and sports FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was present as special guest.
On the opening day, 46, 49, 52, 56, 60 and 69 weight categories of men’s division and 36, 40 45, 50 and 55 of women’s weight categories events were decided.
A total of 116 participants — 86 of men’s division and 30 of women’s junior division from divisional sports associations, district teams, services teams and different clubs took part in the competition.
