An inter-ministerial meeting was held on Thursday at the conference room of Youth and Sports Ministry in a bid to have successfully hosting upcoming home series against Afghanistan and IHF Trophy Championship 2016.
Youth and Sports Secretary Kazi Akteruddin Ahmed presided over the meeting.
Afghanistan will tour to Bangladesh from September 21 to October 2 to play three-match ODI series while IHF Trophy championship will be held on October 9-13 with the participation of nine countries.
The nine countries are India, the Maldives, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and host Bangladesh.
In the meeting, cooperation was sought to the representatives of concern ministries, associations and divisions to make the events a success. The concern representatives assured the secretary to do their duty properly.
The meeting also formed a security committee making convener of Home Ministry’s additional Secretary (political) to ensure the security of local and foreign players, officials and invited guests during their stay in Bangladesh.
In the meeting officials of Home Ministry, Local Government Division, LGRD, Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, Post and Tele Communication Ministry, Information Ministry, Interior Resource Division, Banking Wing, Finance Ministry, Power Division, Commerce Ministry, Health and Family Welfare Ministry, Arm Force Division, Communication Ministry, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission, National Sports Council, Youth and Sports Ministry, Bangladesh Cricket Board and Bangladesh Handball Federation.
