The two-day long Lutfunnessa Hoque Bokul Inter-District Women’s Athletics Competition was concluded at the Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex in the city’s Dhanmondi on Saturday.
Sadia Akter of Nilphamari District team became first in the 100 metre sprint, while Dhaka District team comprises with Suraiya Akter, Tanjila Islam, Bithi Akter, Selufa Akter finished first in the 100 metre relay race.
Ritu Akter of Gaibandha District team secured first position in the high jump, while Sheuli Hossain of Madaripur District team claimed the first position in the javelin thow.
Zakia Akter of Chittagong District team emerged as the champion bagging ten points, while Tania Afrin of Shariatpur District team became runner-up earning eight points.
After the competition, Shirin Nayeem Punom, MP distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
Chairperson of Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association (BWSA) Mahabub Ara Gini presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
Senior Vice-President of BWSA Anjuman Ara Aksir, General Secretary of BWSA Hamida Begum, Member Secretary of Athletics Sub-Committee Farhad Jesmin Liti were present at the time.
