Eleven members of an inter-district robber gang were arrested from a hotel in Laldighir Par area under Kotowali thana on Saturday night.
The arrestees were identified as, M Hanif, 38, M Kamal Hossain, 28, M Liaquat Hossain, 24, M Akram Hossain, 23, M Toufiq, 26, M Masum, 26, M Mizan, 25, Nayan Mallick, 22, M Milan, 25, Jamal Uddin, 30, M Kamal, 32.
Among them, Liaquat Hossain and Nayan Mallick’s hailed from Chattogram and Kamal Hossain’s hailed from Narsingdi and others are from Cumilla district, police said.
SM Mehdi Hasan, Deputy Commissioner (South) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) said at a press conference on Sunday. Police also recovered two LGs, an iron cutter, an iron rod and four cartridges from them.
They have been stealing in Gulshan, Mohakhali, Badda, Jatrabari, Brahmanbaria Sadar, Cumilla, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Mymensingh and Chattogram for the last 12 years, SM Mehdi Hasan said.
